Debrett's People of Today publication has just released a list of the most influential British citizens and it features two new additions in the form of singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran and vocal powerhouse Sam Smith. 

The annual list reveals the most distinguished figures in the United Kingdom and both music stars were lucky enough to be mentioned. 

Both artists have enjoyed amazing careers so far and Smith, meanwhile, recently celebrated a milestone achievement after headlining America's iconic Madison Square Garden venue. Ed Sheeran's latest album, 'x', was named the top-selling record of 2014 in the UK. 

Joanne Milner, chief executive at Debrett's, said in a statement: "We are delighted to announce this year's Debrett's 500. It's a fascinating mix of people, and not entirely who you might expect. Every individual, though, demonstrates outstanding qualities of influence, achievement and inspiration."
