Fall Out Boy land US No.1 album

Fall Out Boy have secured another chart-topping US album.

The group released their latest effort 'American Beauty/American Psycho' recently in the States.

Billboard have confirmed that the record has shifted 218,000 units in its first week to land at No.1.

Previous chart-topper Meghan Trainor saw her debut effort 'Title' slide from the top to No.3.

Taylor Swift's '1989' meanwhile sold 119,000 copies to stay put at No.2.

It is the first time since 2010 that a January has seen two albums debut at No.1 with sales of over 150,000.

'American Beauty/American Psycho' meanwhile is Fall Out Boy's third No.1 in the US.

2007's 'Infinity on High' and 'Save Rock and Roll' in 2013 also achieved the feat.
