Marvin Humes responds to Louis Tomlinson Voice jibe: 'It's doing very well in the ratings'

Marvin Humes has hit back after Louis Tomlinson mocked The Voice.

The One Direction man suggested earlier this year that the TV show - which Humes co-presents - can't compete with the X Factor.

The singer, who found fame on the X Factor in 2010, wrote on Twitter: "Is bad mouthing The X Factor the only way The Voice knows how to promo their show ? #everyyear.

"It's like Accrington Stanley trying to compete with Real Madrid..."

Humes has now responded to the tweets in an interview with Yahoo, saying:

"Louis is a friend of mine, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

"All that I will say is that The Voice is a very successful entertainment programme - and it's doing very well in the ratings. But still, everyone is entitled to their opinion."

The fourth series of The Voice is currently airing on BBC One.
