Bob Dylan No.1 on midweek UK albums chart

Bob Dylan has shot to the top of the UK albums chart.

The veteran singer-songwriter released his new effort 'Shadows in the Night' recently.

The Official Charts Company revealed today (February 4) that the record - his 36th to date - is No.1 on the midweek update.

Dylan is beating Ed Sheeran's 'x', which rests at No.2, and Meghan Trainor's 'Title'.

At No.4 on the midweek update is a re-issue of Dire Straits' 1985 record 'Brothers In Arms'.

The top five is rounded off by Sam Smith's ever-present 2014 debut 'In The Lonely Hour'.

Kid Ink meanwhile is a new entry at No.6 with 'Full Speed' whilst Diana Krall is in at No.16 with 'Wallflower'.
