Nathan Sykes on solo career: 'There's a lot of depth on my album'

Former The Wanted star Nathan Sykes has revealed that he can't wait to showcase his solo music because it's so different from what fans will be expecting

Speaking to Ryan Seacrest on KIIS-FM about his new solo material, which he described as a blend of funk, soul and pop, the heartthrob confessed that his vocals have developed to a point where he can really experiment with styles now:

"I’ve really gotten to know my voice and it’s really developed, so they can expect a very wide variety and a lot of depth on the album. Honestly I can’t wait for them to hear it and find out what they all think."

He recently opened up about the song he wrote about ex-girlfriend Ariana Grandeand admitted that it's complimentary to her so she shouldn't be worried:

"One of the songs is about Ariana. She hasn't heard it yet. Knowing Ari she'll corner me the next time we bump into each other and demand I play her the song. It is a nice song. She has nothing to worry about. I'm not scared of her reaction. It's very complimentary and emotional actually. She will hear it and think 'Oh so you do have feelings'."
