Grammys TV audience down by three million

The TV audience for the 2015 Grammy Awards were down three million on last year.

The ceremony took place at Los Angeles' Staples Center on Sunday (February 8).

The showpiece US music event drew in a TV audience of 25.3 million viewers.

However, this is down on last year's figures of 28.5 million.

It was the smallest TV audience for the Grammy Awards since 2009.

This year's ceremony, however, did beat the Golden Globes' audience by around six million.

Sam Smith was the big winner at the 2015 Grammys, landing a total of four gongs.
