Charli XCX: 'I don't feel the need to change myself or change who I am to fit in anywhere'

'Boom Clap' hitmaker Charli XCX has revealed that she really takes the reins in her career and only creates music that pleases her

When asked by Digital Spy how it feels to be linked to other acts who were all about girl power, such as the Spice Girls, she confessed that it's an honour because all she wants to do is remain true to herself and make the kind of music she enjoys personally:

"Yeah, that's cool and that's really how I feel; I don't feel the need to change myself or change who I am to fit in anywhere. I always wanna do my thing [...] I'm very selfish in that I make music for myself, not for other people; I kind of only think about other people afterwards when it's (the album) out. I hope that people can connect with it."

She then revealed who she would recruit for an all-girl supergroup: "Errrrm, me, Rita, Lil' Kim, maybe Gwen Stefani and huh, I dunno, Björk. That'd be pretty cool. Very eclectic."
