Imagine Dragons are in pole position to land their first UK No.1 album this weekend.

The US group released their latest effort 'Smoke + Mirrors' this week and the Official Charts Company have confirmed that it is No.1.

On the midweek update published today (February 18) the record is sitting one place above Drake.

His surprise album-mixtape 'If You're Reading This You're Too Late' rises from No.3 to No.2.

At third place on the update is Sam Smith's 'In The Lonely Hour', which drops from the top spot.

Thunder's new entry 'Wonder Days' is No.4 whilst Texas are No.5 with their greatest hits collection 'Texas 25'.

Fellow Scots Idlewild are No.8 with their comeback record 'Everything Ever Written'.
