Nate Ruess from fun. teases solo project with song clip

Singer Nate Ruess, of fun. fame, has revealed plans for a solo career now that his band members are involved in different things.

Member Jack Antonoff is enjoying success with his group Bleachers and Andrew Dost recently wrote the film scores for Sundance comedy 'The D Train' and MTV's 'Faking It,' leaving Ruess somewhat unattached.

He has now shared a short clip of himself singing a song called 'Nothing Without Love', which was originally a demo for fun.'s next album. This 28-second a cappella promo teases Monday's (February 23) full release.

fun., meanwhile, recently addressed split rumours and confirmed that there is no bad blood or plans to call it a day, and they are merely interested in other things at the moment: "The 3 of us are very involved and supportive of all these different projects going on within the fun. family at the moment."

"fun. was founded by the 3 of us at a time when we were coming out of our own bands. One thing that has always been so special about fun. is that we exist as 3 individuals in music who come together to do something collaborative. We make fun records when we are super inspired to do so. Currently, Nate is working on his first solo album, Andrew is scoring films and Jack is on tour and working on Bleachers music. The 3 of us have always followed inspiration wherever it leads us. sometimes that inspiration leads to fun. music, sometimes it leads to musical endeavours outside of fun.."
