Julianne Moore, Eddie Redmayne and 'Birdman' win top prizes at the 87th Academy Awards

The 87th Academy Awards took place tonight in Los Angeles and all of the winners have now been announced

Julianne Moore won the Best Actress in a Leading Role award for playing a professor diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's disease in 'Still Alice' and she accepted the golden trophy with grace and respect for the other nominees (Reese Witherspoon, Marion Cotillard, Felicity Jones and Rosamund Pike):

"There's no such thing as best actress as is evidence by my fellow nominees. I'm grateful for the opportunity to stand up here and thank the people I love."

The prize for Best Picture went to director Alejandro González Iñárritu's 'Birdman', which stars Emma Stone, Michael Keaton and Edward Norton, and other nominated films included 'Whiplash', 'The Theory Of Everything', 'Boyhood', and 'The Grand Budapest Hotel'.

Eddie Redmayne took home the Best Actor in a Leading Role Oscar for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking in 'The Theory of Everything' and told the audience at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood: "Thank you. I don’t think I’m capable of articulating quite how I feel right now. I’m fully aware that I am a lucky, lucky man. This Oscar belongs to all of those people around the world battling ALS."
