Jessie Ware: 'Cheryl's fans attacked me over BRITs nomination'

Singer Jessie Ware is nominated for Best Female Solo Artist at the 2015 BRIT Awards and she has revealed that Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's (née Cole) followers have been criticising her for taking a nomination away from someone they believe deserved it more

The Best Female Solo Artist shortlist for this year's BRITS includes Ware, Lily Allen, Paloma Faith and Robert Pattinson's girlfriend FKA Twigs, but Cheryl wasn't recognised

Ware told Britain's Daily Star newspaper that she was bombarded with some offensive tweets from Cheryl's online fanbase who were angry at the star's lack of inclusion in the nominees list:

"A lot of Cheryl army people tweeted me saying, 'Who the f**k is Jessie Ware?' I did feel slightly guilty that Cheryl wasn't nominated... The Cheryl army go in hard. One person said, 'This f**king Jessie has had two mediocre charting singles'. It's a fair point and quite correct."
