Amazon reveals who would win BRIT Awards if decisions were based on its sales data

The 2015 BRIT Awards will kick off in London at the O2 Arena later tonight (February 25) and digital retailer Amazon has now revealed which acts would win each category if the decision was determined by its sales figures

Steve Bernstein, Director of Amazon EU Digital Music, explained that some of the nominated acts have enjoyed incredibly high sales figures over the last 12 months:

"British music has achieved a lot to be proud of in the past year and artists like Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith continue to reign in the charts in the UK and abroad. With rising male talent James Bay crowned this year's BRITs Critics' Choice, it looks as though our passion for British male soloists is here to stay."

The data provided by Amazon shows that male solo artists dominated British music sales in 2014 and the five male nominees' album sales in the British Male Solo Artist category more than quadruple those of their female counterparts.
