BRIT Awards winners and performers see huge sales surges on UK charts

The 2015 BRIT Awards took place in London last night (February 25) and the Official Charts Company has now revealed that the ceremony has impacted sales figures of the stars who both won and performed at the event. 

Rockers Royal Blood, who won the Best British Group title, saw demand for their impressive self-titled debut album surge by 209% and the record is now on course for Number 5 in the Official Albums Chart after being on course for No.16 during yesterday's midweek update

Paloma Faith, who picked up Best British Female Solo Artist, has enjoyed a 130% sales lift for her acclaimed album 'A Perfect Contradiction' and her stunning live performance of 'Only Love Can Hurt Like This' saw a rise of 189%. 

The track sung by Ed Sheeran, 'Bloodstream', saw the largest increase of all the songs performed on the night and it's up a huge 211%. Sam Smith's 'In The Lonely Hour' is up 78% and BRIT Award-winner Taylor Swift's '1989' has seen a 52% sales surge. The full chart of figures can be seen below.
