Viola Davis reflects on 'dream' Suicide Squad role

Viola Davis has opened up on her "dream" role in upcoming film Suicide Squad.

The actress will play the part of Amanda Waller in the DC Comics movie.

The flick features a number of villains and the likes of Jared Leto and Will Smith are already confirmed to appear.

Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, Davis suggested that the role is a childhood dream come true.

She said: "As a comic book and Wonder Woman fan, I love the whole DC Comics universe. I traded comic books as a kid, so all of that appeals to me. When you dream about being an actor as a kid, that's what you dream about.

"That's like play acting: being the superhero, getting the gun; it plays into that fantasy."

Suicide Squad is scheduled to be released in autumn 2016.
