British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, who recently won 2 BRIT Awards, has revealed that he started off his music career as a bit of a geek who struggled to find bandmates. 

Speaking to German magazine Bravo, Sheeran explained that when he first wanted to start a band he couldn't find anyone to play music with because he was 'a nerd' with ginger hair:

"I was a nerd with red hair and glasses. Aged 11, I decided I wanted to form a band. But nobody wanted to join me because I wasn't cool enough!"

He went onto add that one lesson he has learned over the past few years is that the best thing you can do is to find the silver lining in every situation: "You have to concentrate on the positive things in your life. No matter how rubbish you are feeling, you can find something good in everything. You just have to be able to recognise it!"
