Kelly Clarkson, The Vamps and Nick Jonas recall their very first dates

UK radio station Capital FM interviewed a host of music stars about their first date memories and most of the hitmakers recalled feelings of nerves.

Three members of The Vamps revealed that their first dates took place at cinemas and Brad Simpson, the band's frontman, explained: "The first time I went on a date, I went to the cinema and it was good." The Vamps' bassist, Connor Ball, said: "The first time I went on a date it was very good - a cinema date!" James McVey added: "The first time I went on a date I went to the cinema and I was so scared to hold the girl's hand."

Heartthrob Nick Jonas joked that he still doesn't know if the girl he took out even classified the event as a date: "The first time I went on a date I was probably 14 or 15... I thought it was a date, I don't know if she did!"

Kelly Clarkson confessed that her stepfather chaperoned her first date as she was too young to be left alone: "I think my first date was with this guy and my stepdad had to come with us because I was too young to go on a date by myself. He tried to hold my hand during the movie and his hand was so sweaty! It was awkward, but awesome."
