Westlife’s Markus Feehily “Feels alive” After Starting Solo Career

Westlife star Markus Feehily says that he "feels alive" once more after launching a solo career. The singer is due to release his first single 'Love Is A Drug' on April 19 before unleashing his first album.

Speaking to the Daily Star, the Irishman said that he is rejuvenated following the split of Westlife in 2012.

Feehily said: "I honestly didn’t know if I would ever make an album.

"I wanted to shift direction into a different genre but the people I wanted to work with didn’t want to work with me.

"I had to start from scratch and even though I had a successful career with Westlife it almost worked against me.

"I’m not too proud to knock on someone’s door and knock on it three or four times if it is slammed in my face.

He concluded: "I had to win over a lot of people but that has made me feel alive. And after 15 years in the business, it is great to feel alive."
