Slipknot guitarist stabbed in head by brother

Slipknot guitarist Mick Thomson is recovering in hospital after being stabbed in the back of the head by his brother.

Police confirmed to Billboard that the axeman and sibling Andrew Thomson were both taken to hospital following a fight at the musician's home in Clive, Iowa.

The brothers suffered "serious injuries", with the Slipknot man receiving a stab wound on the back of his head.

None of the injuries are life-threatening, however, with both Thomsons arriving in hospital drunk.

Speaking on Twitter on Wednesday night (March 11), Slipknot singer Corey Taylor said:

"In regards to the story about Mick, I'm doing the best I can to find out if he's alright. I'll get back to you later.

"Mick Update: from what I've heard he's okay. We're sending him all your thoughts. Thank you for that."
