Hilary Duff on good-girl image: 'Not to say I didn't screw up and do naughties'

Singer and former Disney starlet Hilary Duff has revealed that maintaining her good-girl image throughout her entire career has been difficult because there are certain people she had to cut out of her life in order to stay away from troublesome situations.

Speaking to Cosmopolitan magazine, the beauty explained that she had to make some tough decisions where friends have been concerned, but she makes a conscious effort to keep her personal life away from the paparazzi and the press alike:

"That was really hard, to sit down with people and say, 'We can't be friends anymore'. They were like, 'That's f**ked up. You're a b***h.' But having a good reputation was important to me. That's not to say I didn't screw up and do little naughties here and there."

Earlier this year, Duff told ELLE magazine that she has always struggled with body confidence, but she's now learning to accept herself as she is: "I'm in the same struggle you're in every day. It's a tough question, too, but however it comes across, it comes across. I just tell myself, 'I'm 5'2", I'm really fit, killing it in the gym, and doing crazy things.' I love to work out, but I'm just not that concerned with being the skinniest person."
