James Bay to top UK albums chart

James Bay is set to reach the top of the UK albums chart this weekend.

The singer-songwriter unleashed his debut record 'Chaos and the Calm' on Monday (March 23).

The Official Charts Company today (March 25) confirmed that it is 10,000 copies ahead of the rest of the midweek chart's top five combined.

At No.2 on the update is Sam Smith's 'In The Lonely Hour', which is a non-mover.

Laura Marling's 'Short Movie' is a new entry at No.3 whilst Ed Sheeran's ever-present 'x' follows at No.4.

Rounding off the midweek top five is Seasick Steve's 'Sonic Soul Surfer', which is a new entry.

The Cribs' 'For All My Sisters' is a new entry at No.7 whilst The Staves' 'If I Was' debuts at No.8.

Kylie Minogue's 'Kiss Me Once – Live At The SSE Hydro' meanwhile is new at No.14.
