Johnny Depp hand injury postpones Pirates of the Caribbean filming

A hand injury suffered by Johnny Depp has delayed filming of the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

The fifth flick will resume filming on April 15 after Depp had an accident in March.

The actor - who plays Jack Sparrow in the series - had a pin put in his finger following the incident, which did not take place on set.

Recovery time is longer than first anticipated and all members of crew are off until mid-April.

Mal Tulloch, from entertainment trade union Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance, commented that he is confident the project will resume.

He said: "They've tried to keep it going in his absence...but they've reached the pinch point."
