Ryan Reynolds has expressed his disbelief at Zayn Malik leaving One Direction.

The singer bowed out of the pop group last week to spend more time away from the limelight.

Actor Reynolds was recently asked for his thoughts about the news during a Twitter Q&A.

He joked: "I refuse to believe this.

"That's like Taylor Swift leaving Taylor Swift."

One Direction meanwhile have vowed to carry on as a four-piece.

They are expected to release another album later this year.

The band's last record 'FOUR' was released in November.
