Kacey Musgraves: 'I'm just trucking alone in my own lane'

Country songstress Kacey Musgraves has revealed that she marches to the beat of her own drum and doesn't conform to stereotypes where her successful career is concerned.

Speaking to America's Cosmopolitan magazine, the beauty explained that she is very happy just doing her own thing and doesn't feel pressured to model herself on any of her contemporaries.

The 'Blowin' Smoke' sensation confessed: "I'm kind of in my own little corner, you know? I'm inspired by traditional country music. I love Willie Nelson. A lot of this record was inspired by Glenn Campbell, Roger Miller, he was really humorous. I'm just trucking along in my own lane."

Former tour buddy Katy Perry recently picked Musgraves as one of the most inspirational women in her life and told Glamour magazine that she is a great role model

"Kacey is one of the most unique songwriters I've heard in the past decade. She puts into words what the heart feels. And she's not bad on the eyes and has a great sense of humour the whole way through."
