Naughty Boy opens up about Zayn Malik friendship: 'I was a friend when he needed one'

Producer Naughty Boy has spoken out about his friendship with Zayn Malik and confessed that he was there for the former One Direction member when he needed someone to talk to.

During an interview with Heat magazine, the hitmaker explained that Malik was under an incredible amount of stress when he was in the boyband so he understands why he decided to quit:

"I've been his friend. He needs one. Just because we were seen at my studio – you [don't] necessarily just make music. People seem to forget that he's under so much stress. Which is why he left the tour. There's a lot going on. People get caught up – what he has done is to be normal. Sometimes being normal is to try and sort things out with your fiancée or hang around with a friend. That is normal."

Naughty Boy went onto clarify that the demo he released with Malik's voice on it, a track called 'I Won't Mind', was actually from One Direction's 'Four' recording sessions despite the fact that Louis Tomlinson recently slammed this report as false
