All Time Low's Jack talks about 5SOS's success

Jack Barakat, of All Time Low fame, has revealed that the time he spent on 5 Seconds Of Summer's tour bus was a lot of fun because the band members are all great guys.

The pop-punker told the AAP that he joined the 'Good Girls' hitmakers on the road during a period of All Time Low's downtime and he was missing the tour life: "We were off tour for so long that I was like `man I miss being on the road' and they were in our area, so I just took the train over and I rode the bus with them for a few days and it was fun."

Barakat went onto add that hearing 5SOS's Michael Clifford describe him as 'his idol' was a strange but amazing moment: "We grew up idolising Blink 182, Green Day, so it's so weird to have that... to have Michael (Clifford, 5SOS singer and guitarist) come up to me and say `Dude you're my idol, 'Straight to DVD' (All Time Low's live album) inspired me so much,' and I didn't believe him."

He ended the interview by confessing that it's awesome to see the Aussie boys enjoy so much success: "It's really cool to watch them get as big as they have because they're not playing typical pop music they're playing the same thing we kind of play and grew up playing."

"I remember one of the first times I hung out with them they were like, 'dude, what was it like hanging out with Mayday Parade?' and I was like, 'you guys have toured with One Direction and all these massive artists,' but they're only interested in the bands from the scene that we come from. It was refreshing to see them so excited about our scene in music."
