Shawn Mendes on Taylor Swift: 'She's the best person in the world'

Canadian heartthrob Shawn Mendes is set to join superstar Taylor Swift on her upcoming 1989 tour this summer as a support act and confessed that he can't wait for the run of dates to kick off.

His first concert with the 'Out Of The Woods' sensation will take place on May 22 at the LSU Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and he told Fox 411 that he is really looking forward to the jaunt: "I can’t wait. It’s going to be so good. She’s the best person in the world, so I am very excited."

Mendes also recently opened up about his forthcoming new album, 'Handwritten', which will be released on April 14 and admitted he is 'thrilled' at how excited the fans are for the record to drop: “'Handwritten’ will be out on April 14th so I am actually thrilled. I worked very, very hard on the album. It’s actually come together very quickly so I am excited to see people’s reactions.”

Yesterday, Mendes announced details of a special livestream event that will take place next week to celebrate the release of his highly anticipated debut album. He will make an appearance at the Mall of America on April 13 and the whole event will be streamed online.
