Frozen, 1D and Taylor Swift score biggest-selling albums of 2014

The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) has just released a list of the world's biggest-selling digital and physical albums of 2014 and the most popular record is the 'Frozen' soundtrack, which shifted 10 million copies

The much loved 'Frozen' soundtrack was released back in 2013 and sold four million copies more than the second place artist Taylor Swift, whose '1989' racked up figures of 6 million despite only being released in October 2014

Other albums featured in the IFPI's global rundown include One Direction's 'FOUR', the band's final album with Zayn Malik, which sold 3.2 million copies and came in sixth place, Lorde's 'Pure Heroine', which shifted 2 million copies putting it at No.10, and Ed Sheeran's 'x' AT No.3 with 4.4 million.

  8. Various Artists - 'Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix Vol. 1' 2.5 million
  9. Pink Floyd - 'The Endless River' 2.5 million
  10. Lorde - 'Pure Heroine' 2 million
