Brian McFadden on Zayn leaving: 'He'll need to adapt to life without the band'

Singer Brian McFadden, who split from Westlife back in 2004, has given his opinion on Zayn Malik's recent decision to leave One Direction and revealed that it's tough to find your feet after being defined by a successful group for so long.

During an interview with Britain's Daily Star newspaper, the singer explained that while he doesn't have any advice for Malik personally, he knows that life after Westlife was tough for him so imagines the young heartthrob will struggle in a similar way:

"I don't really have any advice for him. No one was there to give me any advice. I haven't spoken to Zayn. I have spoken to some of the other boys but I don't really know what's going on. It's difficult to adapt to life on your own when you spent so much time in a band, you kind of become a family."

"For Westlife, we became brothers and I think that was the hardest thing for me. Not waking up in the morning and sharing my day with four other lads, that'll be difficult for him."
