Heartthrob Shawn Mendes has thanked his fans after his debut album, entitled 'Handwritten', shot straight in at No.1 on the U.S. Billboard 200. 

Upon hearing the confirmation of the amazing news, the 16-year-old Canadian sensation posted a photograph of himself performing to Instagram (shown left) and accompanied it with the following caption:

"Thankyou all so so so so so so much for this #1 album. I owe it all to you. You guys are the best. Love you so much xx."

Mendes' chart-topping offering has also secured him the position of the youngest artist to achieve this feat since fellow Canadian Justin Bieber's 'My World 2.0' was No.1 for 4 weeks. The sensation has also been confirmed to perform at this year's Radio Disney Music Awards, which will take place on April 25 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
