Lance Bass has admitted his surprise at how long One Direction have lasted.

The group are currently down to a four-piece following the exit of Zayn Malik last month.

They have been active since 2010 and have released four albums.

Speaking on Meredith Vieira's US talk show on Thursday (April 23), former N' Sync man Bass said that he didn't think One Direction would still be going.

Talking after suggesting that Harry Styles could be the next to leave the group, the singer said:

"I think the guys are always going to be friends, they're brothers... [but] the fact they lasted this long is a surprise to me. Hopefully the other four can go on and do a little more music.

"I see Harry leaving soon and I don't see another One Direction album happening after that."
