Ciara looking forward to going on tour: "I've missed the stage"

American R&B star Ciara is getting excited about making her live return with a new tour.

The ‘1, 2 Step’ dancer and singer releases latest album ‘Jackie’ – her first since her 2013 eponymous LP - tomorrow (May 4).

However, the aspect of her career that Ciara is the most eager to resume is performing live.

Speaking to MTV News about her upcoming ‘Jackie’ tour, Ciara said:

“It's so exciting to go on the road and it's pretty much been six years since I was out there, and I'm just looking forward to sharing this special part of my life with the fans, because this album is really about marking a special moment for me.”

She added: “I'm looking forward to being able to rock again! It's been so long, I've missed the stage and I'm excited like a little kid.”

Ciara’s last headlining tour was a joint live venture with Jay Z back in 2009.

On what audiences can expect from her new shows, the ‘I Bet’ star teased: “I definitely want to make sure I give my fans the songs that they got to know me from, but at the same time I'm so in love with this album, that I'm ready to get into that and do some new stuff… On this tour we're definitely going to get this new energy started.”

Ciara kicks off her US tour tonight (May 3) in Chicago at the ‘House of Blues’.
