Zayn Malik's older sister Doniya has given her first ever interview this week to the BBC Asian Network and opened up about his incredible rise to fame as well as his engagement to blonde beauty Perrie Edwards. 

When asked about her brother's success with One Direction, Doniya confessed that it changed a lot of things in her and her family's daily lives: "It changed quite a lot actually. But you get to do a lot more things, and there's a lot more opportunities that you never thought you'd get to do."

"Even going to London, before Zayn got famous I'd never been to London. The experience of X Factor, watching it live was really good, and obviously meeting famous people. At the beginning when it first started out, I was 18. It was all kind of surreal and weird, but as time goes on you get used to it. It's overwhelming and it's something that doesn't really hit you, you've just got to go along with it, but it is very exciting."

Doniya then spoke about Malik's engagement to Little Mix beauty Perrie Edwards, she admitted that she likes the 'Wings' songstress and gets along with her very well: "It's pretty cool. Perrie's a really nice girl, she's really friendly, very easy to get on with, down-to-earth, so I'd say just how it is with my sisters."
