Liam Gallagher appears to have put the past behind him by praising a new Blur song.

The singer's former band Oasis had something of a rivalry with Blur in the 1990s as Britpop reigned supreme.

However, it seems Damon Albarn and co.'s new track 'Lonesome Street' has piqued the interest of Gallagher.

Writing on Twitter on Monday (May 4), the Brit said that he thinks the tune is the best song of 2015 so far.

Gallagher wrote: "Lonesome St by BLUR song of the year LG x."

The track features on Blur's new comeback album 'The Magic Whip'.
