The Monkees have confirmed plans to play London later this year.

The group - featuring original members Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork - will play the Hammersmith Apollo on September 4.

Tickets for the gig will go on sale from 9am UK time on Friday (May 15).

The Monkees last played in London at the city's Royal Albert Hall in 2011.

The band's first album 'The Monkees' was released in 1966.
