BBC Three to show Radio 1's Big Weekend

This year's BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend is set to be a monumental event with live sets coming from 5 Seconds Of Summer, Hozier, Olly Murs and Muse and it has now been announced that fans without tickets will be able to watch all the action thanks to BBC Three.

Coverage for both Saturday and Sunday will kick off on the UK based channel from 7pm and it will run until 11pm to include all acts on the bill. The Big Weekend is due to be held in Norwich at Earlham Park on May 23-24.

Other bands confirmed to perform include The Vaccines, Imagine Dragons, Florence + the Machine, and the Foo Fighters. Taylor Swift, Jess Glynne, Rita Ora, James Bay, and George Ezra will also all take the stage over the weekend.

A message on the event's official page explains: "BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend will be broadcast across BBC Radio 1, BBC Three TV, on the Radio 1 web and mobile sites, as well as via the red button from BBC Digital TV channels. We will bring you live coverage, all the highlights, exclusive access and special performances throughout the festival."
