Louis Walsh gives career advice to Zayn Malik

Irish music mogul Louis Walsh has given some words of wisdom to Zayn Malik following his untimely departure from boyband One Direction and suggested that he creates a solo hit single as soon as possible.

Speaking about Malik's new direction, Walsh explained that he should work hard to find his sound and release something soon while fans are still there and people remain interested in what he's doing:

"Hope you're good; happy with your life, free at last. Doing your own thing, making your own music. You probably did the right thing if you were unhappy. You've made enough money, you know that. I'm sure you're gonna make a great record with that Naughty Boy."

"Stay with Syco because they're a great, great label. I still love One Direction, I still remember you [being] put together on 'The X Factor' and get a hit now, man."

Walsh, meanwhile, also recently spoke about One Direction's future as a foursome and told the Press Association: "With One Direction, the boys will have to work harder and I think it might help them to gel. They know they have to get out there and do it. Maybe it's the best for both of them (One Direction and Zayn Malik) because if he wasn't happy he can have a solo career and One Direction are already a global phenomenon."
