Naughty Boy on Zayn Malik's solo material: 'It'll shock everyone'

'La La La' hitmaker Naughty Boy has revealed that he has collaborated with former One Direction superstar Zayn Malik on on a song that will feature on his upcoming album.

He spoke to BANG Showbiz at this week's Ivor Novello Awards in London and admitted that not only is their duet pretty great, but Malik's solo material will blow everyone away once it's released:

"Zayn is definitely going to be on the album. I'm keeping it interesting. I'm an artist person and I'm drawn to proper singers and artists and to me Zayn is the epitome of a great artist. Our track is going to be ready in a couple of months... You are going to be shocked by what he comes out with... I feel that the last five years have the most important for him but I feel he has a future beyond that."

When asked if their collaborative track might be released as a single, Naughty Boy added teasingly: "Maybe, maybe..."

He also defended his decision to speak for Malik and to stand up for the young star: "He's in a very difficult position. He won't tell his side of the story yet and that's why there has to be radio silence... (I spoke out for him) because that's the rock n roll in me, I'm not going to take s**t from anybody."
