Hunter Hayes defends releasing music digitally: 'Change is a beautiful thing'

'I Want Crazy' sensation Hunter Hayes has opened up about only releasing singles in digital format and confessed that this generation is changing how music is consumed commercially.

Speaking to Billboard recently, the hitmaker explained that putting music out via the Internet means that it's available immediately, which is incredibly important in this day and age when demand is high and attention spans seem shorter:

"We're constantly looking for new ways to get music to the fans in a quicker and more exciting fashion. Now it's just a matter of letting the fans speak. Change is not a bad thing -- it's a beautiful thing."

Warner Music Nashville president/CEO John Esposito went onto add that Hayes really knows his demographic and understands how to appeal to them: "When we're launching a Hunter Hayes project, we talk to him about his vision in its entirety and figure out how to make it a reality. He has great instincts about his fans and where the music business is going."

Pressparty spoke with Hunter Hayes this week, ahead of the release of his new album in the UK, and he opened up about his craziest fan experience to date along with what it was like to tour with Taylor Swift.
