BB King's daughters claim their father was poisoned

Two of BB King's daughters have suggested that their father was "murdered" by poison.

The legendary blues musician died aged 89 in his home in Las Vegas earlier this month.

Daughters Karen Williams and Patty King now claim that he was killed by poison at the hands for two close aides.

They suggest that King was murdered by former manager LaVerne Toney and personal assistant Myron Johnson.

They also accuse the pair of trying to stop them from visiting their father.

The daughters said: "I believe my father was poisoned and that he was administered foreign substances...I believe my father was murdered."

Patty King adds that she saw Johnson put drops of an unknown substance on her father's tongue several months before he passed away.

Toney responded to the claims: "They've been making allegations all along. What's new?"

Brent Bryson, the lawyer representing King's estate, added: "I hope they have a factual basis that they can demonstrate for their defamatory and libelous allegations.

"[King] did not want invasive medical procedures. He made the decision to return home for hospice care instead of staying in a hospital. These unfounded allegations have caused Mr King to undergo an autopsy, which is exactly what he didn't want."
