Naughty Boy says he was drawn to working with Zayn Malik because of the singer's talent and artistry.

The Brit quit One Direction in March in order to live a more normal life.

He had previously worked with producer Naughty Boy and a demo track was revealed after he left the band.

Speaking to Capital FM last week, the 'La La La' star said that he feels Malik's talents weren't fully realised in One Direction.

He said: "He's got an amazing voice but I do feel like they all [One Direction] have added something as individuals in that band.

"Zayn has just been probably the one that's sort of not fully showcased what he's capable of."

Naughty Boy added that he feels Malik is more than just a singer:

"I think Zayn's voice is just amazing. That's the important thing, I feel like he's an artist. I work with singer-songwriters, I just find it difficult to work with people who haven't got something to say."
