Diplo: 'I don't care if my music leaks as it doesn't affect my career'

Superstar DJ Diplo has revealed that he doesn't care if his music leaks online because it doesn't affect his career.

Speaking to Britain's Culture magazine, the hitmaker explained that he's not bothered if his material hits the web before he releases it himself because money isn't made from record sales any more:

"I don't care if anybody - and you can quote me on this - trades my records, leaks my record. I don't care."

He went onto add: "I can't make money off the sales, but I'll make money off doing shows, or selling merchandise... (If musicians don't care about leaks) then people are totally fearless. They're giving music away from the beginning."

Diplo, meanwhile, made headlines earlier this year after joking that Taylor Swift needed to get a "booty" and then suffered the wrath of her fans. He told GQ: "She has like 50 million people that will die for her. It's like an army that's worse than North Korea. You can't step into that arena. That was something I was never prepared for...one of the biggest mistakes of my career was definitely f***ing with her."
