Vance Joy praises tour buddy Taylor Swift: 'She's so lovely'

Hitmaker Vance Joy has been opening for Taylor Swift on her 1989 tour and revealed that it has been a lot of fun.

Speaking to Billboard backstage at the Governors Ball 2015 in New York, the Aussie singer-songwriter explained that touring in support of Swift has been a pleasure because she's such a likeable and relatable musician:

"She's so lovely and told me she's excited to have me on tour. I try to communicate how grateful I feel to get this opportunity. And I always make sure I thank her when I'm on stage, just because it's a pleasure to be on this tour."

Joy, who rose to fame with his breakthrough single 'Riptide', went onto talk about choosing his stage name: "I was at university about three or four years ago and I went to a used bookstand and picked up this book. About 20 pages into it there's a character called Vance Joy. I just liked the way the name sounded and the way it looked on the page. I had a secret little dream to do music and also perform under an alias. So I started to call myself Vance Joy."
