George Ezra's 'Wanted On Voyage' passes 1 million sales in the UK

Singer-songwriter George Ezra has passed the 1 million sales mark in the UK with his debut album 'Wanted On Voyage'.

The Official Charts Company has confirmed that the star's first collection has sold 1.007 million copies since its release 11 months ago and he spoke about the amazing achievement in a statement, which reads:

"Selling a million albums almost doesn't feel real. I don't actually think I've ever seen a million of anything. Thank you so much to anyone who has bought the album and has enjoyed it. I always wanted to be thought of as an album artist so over everything that's happened this means the most. Thank you."

Ezra recently told The Sun newspaper that he had to quit drinking for a month because alcohol was taking too much of a toll on him:

"I realised I'd been drinking for 18 months. I had to stop it, I couldn't keep up. I had to chill out. I should have waved my white flag two weeks before The Brits. It got to the point that, even if I wanted to carry on, I couldn't. I was exhausted. I had to pull two shows in the UK so I didn't drink for four weeks."
