Biggest-selling albums of the decade so far include One Direction and Gaga

A list of the Top 40 best-selling albums of the decade so far has been unveiled and it sees entries from the likes of One Direction, vocal powerhouse Adele, and Katy Perry.

The Official Charts Company confirmed that Adele's '21' is the biggest selling album of the decade to date and it has sold just over 4,751,000 copies in the UK.

Three of One Direction's albums, namely 'Up All Night' (No.20), 'Take Me Home' (No.28), and 'Midnight Memories' (No.36), are included in the rundown. Lady Gaga also has two albums on the list, including 'The Fame' at No.12 and 'Born This Way' at 29, and Lana Del Rey features at No.27 with 'Born To Die'.

Other notable entries include Ed Sheeran's 'X' and '+' at 5 and 6 respectively, Sam Smith's 'In The Lonely Hour' at No.9, Olly Murs' 'Right Place Right Time' at No.16, and Jessie J's 'Who You Are' at No.17. Check out the full Top 40 in the chart below.
