Hozier feels 'objectified' by fans: 'It makes me uncomfortable'

'Take Me To Church' hitmaker Hozier has revealed that he's starting to feel objectified by fans because he finds that people always want to take photos with him at his shows or on the street.

Speaking to The Times newspaper, the star explained that fame is very strange and it's definitely an adjustment: "When it's ten people wanting selfies it can be uncomfortable. You want to disappear. When there's a hand on your a**e as they take your picture it's certainly objectifying."

Hozier went onto add that he isn't complaining because he gets to live out his dream, but it'll just take some time to get used to: "But that is a small price to pay. I may not be able to go into a pub in Dublin with friends any more, but that's the worst of it. To be able to do this for a living? It's a dream come true."

The hitmaker went onto add that he still can't believe 'Take Me To Church' has been so well-received because it's a different song for such mainstream and commercial success: "My background is in folk and blues and I never thought I'd end up on radio, especially as 'Take Me To Church' is a wordy song with changing time signatures and no bass guitar. It shouldn't have taken off, but it did."
