American comedienne Amy Schumer has been announced as Madonna's opening act for the New York City Rebel Heart tour dates this coming September.

Schumer will take the stage before Madonna on September 17 and 18 at Madison Square Garden, and then on September 19 in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center. 

She took to Twitter this afternoon (June 18) and confirmed the exciting news herself, sharing a funny message and a video of herself as a child singing 'Like A Prayer':

"Guess who auditioned for @Madonna and got the part? See you in NYC on Sept 16, 17 and 19."

The star recently presented at the MTV Movie Awards and took a few pops at some of music and film’s biggest stars. During her opening monologue, Schumer said: “Half of you don’t know who I am, and half of you think I’m Meghan Trainor [...] After months of speculation, Hillary Clinton today announced… she’s taking Zayn’s spot in One Direction… First woman in One Direction: I never thought I’d live to see the day!”
