Joni Mitchell rep denies health report: 'She is speaking and expected to make a full recovery'

Joni Mitchell's conservator has clarified recent reports about the singer's health.

Friend and musician David Crosby told the Huffington Post that the Canadian was left unable to speak following an aneurysm earlier this year.

However, Mitchell's conservator and friend Leslie Morris has said in an official statement that the musician is "speaking very well" and is expected to recover fully.

The message, posted on Mitchell's website, reads: "Joni did in fact suffer an aneurysm.

"However, details that have emerged in the past few days are mostly speculative. The truth is that Joni is speaking, and she's speaking well. She is not walking yet, but she will be in the near future as she is undergoing daily therapies.

"She is resting comfortably in her own home and she's getting better each day. A full recovery is expected."

71-year-old Joni Mitchell was taken into hospital on March 31 after being found unconscious at her Los Angeles home.
