Science of why we're so attracted to boybands is revealed

Women's Health magazine has published an article that looks at the science behind why "grown-ass women" are still attracted to members of boybands.

Paul Hokemeyer, Ph.D., a Manhattan-based relationship therapist, explained to Women's Health magazine that boybands are put together based on the appeal they're likely to have from a physical standpoint. He confessed that once you fall in love with one boyband, it's likely that another group will ignite the same effect:

“This has to do with neuroplasticity and the way our brains crave the pleasures of our past. If your brain was imprinted with a pleasurable cause and effect, it will desperately hold onto that memory recall. We stick to what works.”

He went onto add that this also explains why mothers who 'chaperone' their young children and teenagers to concerts often end up screaming just as loud as them - because they're reminded of that infatuation they once experienced on a similar level and all of the memories come flooding back: “The members of these boy bands are testosterone incarnate. They've been hand-picked and cultivated to represent the ideal mate.”

Brad Taylor, owner of Big Machine Agency, a public-relations firm that works with music industry personalities added: "Boybands are a dream package. They’re put together so that every woman, no matter her age, is attracted to something in the group.”
