Fearne Cotton: 'Having a baby changed my perspective of the radio business'

Fearne Cotton says starting a family altered her "perception" of the radio business.

The Brit stepped down from presenting on BBC Radio 1 earlier this year as she expects her second child.

Speaking to Red magazine, the former Live Lounge star said that having her first baby in 2013 changed her thoughts on the industry.

Cotton said: "I've always had a plan, always known either 'That's what I want to do' or 'I've been doing it'.

"But having a baby gave me a lioness confidence and a complete shift of perspective about how I looked at the business.

"I didn't take it as seriously and I wasn't as obsessed. We're really lucky in this day and age, that women can go out and work, but with that comes this new generation problem."

The DJ added that she would return to radio if an "amazing opportunity" presented itself.
