Ciara and boyfriend Russell Wilson are abstaining from sex - because the latter received a message from God.

The singer is currently in a relationship with the Seattle Seahawks quarterback.

However, it seems the couple aren't getting frisky in the bedroom as a result of Wilson's religious beliefs.

In a recent Q&A with San Diego pastor Miles McPherson, the sportsman said that Ciara - who has a child from a previous relationship - was happy to take on the challenge.

He said: "She was on tour and I was sitting in the dressing room looking at her and God spoke to me. [He said], ‘I need you to lead her.

"I told her, ‘What would you do if we took all that ‘extra stuff’ off the table and just did it Jesus’ way?"

"If you can really love somebody without that, then you can really love somebody."

However, Wilson added: "I need you to pray for us. If there’s a 10, she’s a 15. So I need y’all to pray for me to keep my mind and my heart clear."
